Online Licensure Application System

Welcome to the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) Online Licensure Application System (OLAS).  OLAS was created to allow applicants for licensure to apply online in order to reduce processing time.

Applicants may change or update information until the application is submitted for processing. If information needs to be updated or revised after the application has been submitted, you will need to email any necessary updates to DSPS@wi.gov. If an incomplete application is inactive for 90 days, it will be purged from the system.

LicensE, our new, online, self-guided occupational license application platform is now live! The list of Health licenses available via LicensE is available HERE. Starting on May 16, 2022, those applicants can apply at license.wi.gov. For additional information, including Frequently Asked Questions, please also see the LicensE User Guides and Video page.

Please note that effective July 1, 2019, license and credential fees will be reduced for many occupations. The new fees will take effect July 1—beginning with initial license applications received in the Department and/or postmarked on or after July 1. The fees are set through the next fiscal biennium, or July 1, 2021. View the Frequently Asked Questions to see if the fee for your profession has been reduced or maintained at the current level.

As of August 1, 2018, applicants for an initial credential may apply for a fee reduction per 2017 WI Act 319. If you wish to apply for a fee reduction, you cannot apply for a credential online. You must visit the Department's website and apply via paper application.

Online applications are available for the following licenses:

  • Business Professions

To apply for a credential: Select “Create Account” and create an account as an OLAS Applicant. After you have created an account, click on ‘Log In’ and use the username/password created to start a new application. Fees must be paid through OLAS in order for the application to be submitted to the Department for review. Please be prepared to pay any required application fees at the time the application is completed.

Please see the Applicant Manual under the ‘Help’ tab above for assistance. NOTE: Applicant manual will not be exact screenshots of step by step instructions. Some of the information has been updated and may be slightly varied from what is in the manual.

IMPORTANT: Please store your username and password as you will need this for future application updates. Duplicate accounts should not be created nor can an application already submitted be accessed under any other account user name/password other than what it was submitted under. For security purposes, you will be locked out after 3 incorrect user name/password attempts.
